Posts on Health & Illness

A Note for Blog Readers

This post is for those astute readers who might be reading through my old posts and notice the giant gap in dates at this point in the blog. My last post is dated August 2016; my next one is dated March 2018! What’s going on?

Don’t worry, nothing dramatic happened between these dates, and there wasn’t really a gap in blog posts, either. What did happen, though, was that in 2019 I went back and revised all my previous posts about chronic illness and removed many of them.

I did this because, for the previous couple of years, I’d been using this blog as the rough draft of a book I’m writing about my journey with ulcerative colitis. In 2019 I finished the draft (yay!). I then decided to take it offline, dumping many of the old posts into a Word document and editing them into a book format.

I also revamped the remaining posts, refocusing the blog to be more of a resource for patients with less emphasis on my story, since I’d be telling that in the book.

And I decided to change the dates as part of that process, too. For the earlier posts that remain, it made the most sense for their dates to correspond to the dates when their events occurred. So all the previous health posts are dated 2014 through 2016—even though some of them were really written later.

But I didn’t want to back-date all the posts. So I decided that right here would be a good point at which to just begin dating them when I really wrote them, in 2019 and onwards. (I didn’t write any in 2018 that I’ve kept online, but I’m sticking this post in here in “March 2018” for anyone looking for answers.)

And now, back to our normal broadcast. 🙂
