Memoirs
Along with the three blogs on this website, I’m working on a series of four memoirs. Each tells a different story from my life: my coming-of-age as a young person devoted to kung fu, my life in Africa in my twenties, my father’s cancer, and my journey with ulcerative colitis and chronic anxiety. I feel so fortunate to have the chance to tell these stories; I believe they’ll be healing and entertaining for others to read.
Ecology

Field Guide to Wisconsin Streams – Before I wrote stories about life, I wrote descriptions of it! This book is a one-stop-shop for Wisconsin stream wildlife identification, from plants to fish to invertebrates. It was a collaboration by dozens of scientists within the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and I’m proud to say that I was its project lead. Available from University of Wisconsin Press and on Amazon.
